Join Slow Food Boston in partnership with the Culinary Guild of New England in welcoming the summer season of bountiful farming with our Tour de Farms in S. Dartmouth and Westport, along the picturesque south Massachusetts coast.
Together we will bicycle a 16 mile loop over flat country roads, visiting six neighboring food producers, and picnic on an organic farm. Learn about local farm products in the beautiful landscape in which they are grown and produced.
Tour de Farms riders will be specially welcomed onto each farm, hearing directly from the owners and operators about the history of their farms, their production of good, clean, and fair food, which includes organic herbs, vegetables, poultry and meats, cheese and locally produced beer.
An optional beer tasting will occur at the end of the event, please bring $5 for the brewery!
Space is limited - register today!
Further details on meeting place, bike route & schedule, what to expect and bring along, will be provided to registered participants closer to the day of the event!
About Slow Food Boston: Slow Food Boston is a local chapter of an international food movement that supports “good, clean, fair food for all." We believe in building communities around the sensory experiences associated with food in order to create and sustain healthier relationships, environments, and citizenry. We seek to celebrate the diversity of food traditions to discover the bonds we share across cultures, continents, and kitchen tables. Every day we harness individual expertise and communal passion to work towards a better for system for all. And at the end of each, we don't think there's anything better than good food and good drinks shared with good friends. Here at Slow Food Boston we work to promote foods grown, produced, and prepared here in Massachusetts and throughout New England. We seek to raise awareness of sustainability issues and to host events that are just plain fun.
Members of Slow Food Boston receive advance notice of events, discounts on tickets to various events throughout the year, and help keep Slow Food Boston (a volunteer-run organization) going! Please consider joining us today!
